Do Video Essays Have Paragraphs?: The Basics of Digital Composing: The essay, the poem, and the story have learned to evolve with digital media: participants learn the basics of software like Audacity and iMovie to craft multimodal essays, poetry, and fiction.
The Story in My Bones: This six-week summer youth course explores narrative nonfiction through a variety of prompted exercises.
Flash (Non)Fiction: The (Abridged) Autobiography: Fiction asks us to capture an audience; flash nonfiction asks us to capture ourselves. With a few valuable words, this workshop will challenge us to tell a true story with/in a snapshot (cf., Dinty Moore).
Beating the System: Self-Publishing with Lightning Source Ingram: This workshop introduces participants to Bowker Identifier Services and Lightning Source Ingram then describes the process of transforming your manuscript into a self-published book you can hold in your hand.
